I have previously had a succession of more conventional electric corded strimmers with line attachment. I will now have a new area further away from the house too far for using the mains. In the past the spool and line on my strimmers sometimes got stuck, meaning stop/start to operations , and fiddly unjamming to let out fresh line. The plastic blade attachments seem to work well and will be easier to replace. This strimmer is much more lightweight and quiet, cuts well, but the blades will get a chipped edge if used hard up against hard surfaces like a wall. The new area I have got is not too large, so can hopefully cover it with a couple of charges, Probably not up to doing larger areas with tougher vegetation like brambles, but should be fine for my smaller area with just long grass and a few weeds. Only used it a couple of times so far, it seems to hold its charge ok on my smaller plot, and no back ache due to well balanced and not too heavy. So far, so good.

It is also too heavy and complicated for me.
