Most people probably think a chainsaw is a chainsaw and as such, suitable for all kinds of tasks, regardless of specification and design. Wrong. Arborists and other technical job titles such as tree surgeons and landscapers need a saw with a top-level performance working with less power. They also require more control and usability features due to the technical nature of their jobs. This is where the Husqvarna T540XP comes in, balancing the typical engine quality of their X-Torq engines with a whole host of different ergonomic and usability features. The performance part of T540XP comes in the shape of its Husqvarna X-Torq engine and an AutoTune self-adjusting carburettor. X-Torq provides everything you previously wanted in an engine. It cuts fuel consumption by up to 20%, saving you money and is less damaging to the environment with its reduced emissions of up to 75%. AutoTune eliminates the need for any manual carburettor adjustments and can make alterations for different temperatures, altitudes, humidity, fuels and even a clogged air filter. You can view the above video to find out more on AutoTune. Start-up is as easy on the T540XP as it is on any other Husqvarna Chainsaws. It comes with an auto-return stop switch that automatically returns to the ON position, meaning you can start the machine without any messing on with switches and buttons. Pair that with a handy fuel pump and the machine becomes a breeze to start. Now the main reason this chainsaw is so perfect for arborists and tree surgeons, is the ergonomic design and ease of use features. First off, the grip is always an issue and the T540XP comes with a top handle that is easily set to three different positions allowing better comfort, and positioning and helps to cater for even the most unorthodox of arborists.
LowVIb anti-vibration dampeners also help grip and tension on the user's limbs by decreasing body vibration levels. This is done by separating the vibrating engine from the body of the saw allowing better absorption of the vibration. A handy belt eyelet features on the T540XP making use up at height easier as you won't always need to carry the saw in your hands. Chains and guide bars usually get forgotten when people are thinking of chainsaws and with the T540XP it would be a mistake because some of the key components of the saw come via those two parts. A chain tensioning device allows for convenient chain tensioning and a brake guard supplies a better view of the saw bar tip allowing better control and visuals and adjustable oil pump makes chain lubrication easier too. The guide bar is special in itself and is a strong and light Husqvarna TechLite bar that is 18% lighter than conventional bars making it easier to manoeuvre. The saw even comes with an inertia-activated chain brake meaning less chance of kickback and safer operating conditions. Finally, when it comes to maintenance of your machine, Husqvarna has, again, got you covered. Features include a sturdy crankcase for better durability and long life. A transparent fuel indicator for better fuel management. Quick-release covers for spark plugs and air filters. Lastly, the chainsaw comes with a centrifugal air cleaning system which goes a long way to achieving a longer stretch between filter changes, cleans and all the while minimises wear.
