Quiet, fast and strong trimmer line ,excellent for grass trimming.
Great service by Sam Turner & Sons
I have strimmed professionally for over 25 years. This is the most effective 3mm line I've ever used and previous occasions on the same job needed a metal blade this destroyed the area to be cut. Very happy.
This line is easily the best for our Husqvarna machines, lasting well, cutting most things and is fairly quiet. Sam Turner provide is at the most competitive price and deliver very quickly.
Have used 1.5mm line with strimmers around 1kW, and 2mm line with 1 to 1.5kW.
This line is very soft in respect of the ends bouncing of small stones, so no heavy projectiles fly around the grounds with enough force to brake windows, hurt pedestrians or cause any other damage, at least in years of use in my case it's resulted in no claims against my business.
When using above mentioned line weights with strimmer power, the line is definitely strong enough not to snap when hitting and odd unexpected obstacle, like lets say a wire sticking out of the ground, when too lightweight line would simply brake away at the head.
Line ends tend turn into "brush", so line extremely versatile, apart of regular strimming lawn edges, banks etc, can well withstand clearing wild growth from patios, slabbed footpaths, around kerbs etc, friction doesn't eat it away too rapidly.
Have read the comment that it's too quiet to rely on sound when using bump feed. Having used several 100s of meters of this type of line I can't agree. It's simply soo much quieter than other line, which is not a bad thing really when working around hotels, car parks, offices etc.
I also always work using noise-cancelling headphones, and still have absolutely no problem hearing change in the sound when line gets short enough, so the bump will add just enough line, and the ends still won't be getting cut off by the guard, so no line goes to waste.
Please note above comments are made in relation to grounds maintenance opposed to any one-off grounds clearance, although my thoughts are that heavier line would do really well in clearing jobs.
When patient, 2mm line with 1.5kW strimmer is well capable of going through brambles in my experience. As the line is available all the way to 3mm, it should be cable of tackling any job I can imagine, where one would still use a nylon line rather than moving to using some steel blade.
