View full detailsArrived on time, well packed. The instruction booklet wasn’t for ms181 just a general stihl chainsaw guide, so no details on new ergo start blade assembly.
Having owned an older model, the new ergo start makes it really easy to start. You pull the cord very lightly.
It gets a bit stuck on larger logs Ie over 12 inches using the 16 inch blade but it does just less fuel and oil than the older version and is lighter. Not sure I like the self tensioning new feature on blade, it feels very plastic and not sure how long it will last. If you are after something to cut up firewood for yourself this is a great starter saw. It came at a great price, stihl always hold their value and are very reliable.
With Landscape Gardening as my default trade (so to speak) I’m definitely a JACK of all the rest but no MASTER.
I must state that the majority of my work usually starts with a STIHL tool. (first-time & every-time) So for me the MS 181C-BE 14” Chainsaw is practically my best mate and I do let him sleep in my room whilst working away. (lol)
